The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, St. John’s is a voluntary organization actively working for the humane treatment of all animals. Volunteers are the most important part of our organization, providing loving kindness and care to abused, neglected and abandoned animals.

Without your help our animals would be so lonely and more scared than they already are. Your kindness and love becomes the most important part of their day. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who have gone out of your way to volunteer at our shelter and many other venues. There have been so many wonderful volunteers over the years. Thank goodness there are people like you who help those who can not stand up for themselves. You are seriously appreciated.

Volunteers are needed to:

  • Help at the Shelter on RCAF Road.

  • Become part of our PetSmart program.

  • Assist with Fundraising.

  • Become part of our Foster Care Program.

  • Help at our Thrift Store.

Why don't you fill out our volunteer application form, call us at (709) 726-0301 or visit our Shelter on RCAF Road, off Torbay Road, to find out how you can make a difference in the life of an animal in need.

Note: A signed Waiver (p. 2) must be returned with the Volunteer Application Form.
